I do read a lot, you know. Affection is a highly sought after emotion after all, integral to many psychological and social systems running smoothly.

Those are certainly words to live by, hard to truely understand until you have come up against something that makes you realize just how frail life is though.

it's mostly genuine.

he pulls in a little of ras' breath, which is warm and has molecules of substance. it helps him look a little more solid. helps him feel that way too.]

Sorry. [he smiles. it's not a time to push his luck, but he has to say it.] I wish you could've seen your face though! Your eyes are actually quite pretty when you're not narrowing them in a death glare.

Ras only kind of flushes at that, thankfully he has excellent control over that kind of thing thanks to training, training, and more training. However, it also means that you might get that death glare directed at you a little bit there while Ras pulls himself together a little more.]

I don't usually have much reason to not be glaring on this ship.[ He straightens a little, an almost amused curl to his lips. ] So, co-piloting. Could you walk me through what this entails? Because, well, as tolerable as you are I don't really feel like letting just anyone take over my body.
